This week I took the first step in the journey of the AWS Cloud Practitioner certification by taking my first live virtual class from AWS Skill Center. As I have already worked with AWS Services in many of my projects, it was pretty easy for me to understand the core cloud concepts and how AWS works under the hood.
The first class is based on five topics.
- Understanding the AWS Cloud – What is AWS Cloud? How does it work? and what kind of automation it provide?
- AWS Global Infrastructure – How are AWS Services provided throughout the world?
- Connecting to the AWS Cloud – How to get into AWS Cloud? How to access and manage it.
- Project (Introduction to S3) and its use case to host a simple static website.
- Getting started with AWS – Where to learn about the AWS ecosystem and its services? and introduction to two main frameworks about the AWS Cloud.
These classes are not pre-recorded and hosted by AWS Certified Instructors. I really like the open environment where we can freely ask questions. The instructor was actively engaging with everyone by asking about their goals for AWS Certifications.
AWS Cloud Frameworks
The new thing I learned in this class about AWS are the two frameworks that lay the guidelines AWS Certified Professionals.
- AWS Cloud Adoption Framework (CAF) — How to solve most common problems faced by businesses with AWS Cloud.
- AWS Well Architected Framework (WAF) — How to build secure, reliable, efficient, and cost optimized architecture for business.
These two frameworks are very important for the AWS Cloud Practitioner Certification exam.
After every class instructor will send you the slides and link to the self-paced digital course of the class that you can take for free.
I had a great experience in the first class and I am highly motivated for the next session. I will be reviewing the topics that are taught in this class in more depth and practice with assessment questions from ChatGPT and online free online assessment tests.
